ReplyDelete50 grams of sugar means how much in table spoon?
ReplyDeleteDear Padhu,
ReplyDeleteAs per your measurements, 1 cup = 250 ml. So 2.5 cups make 625 ml. Should I use 1/2 litre milk or 625 ml milk for preparing custard. Kindly clarify.
I always use 250 ml cup for all of your recipes.
Regards,
Smeerthi
Smeerthi - Use half liter of milk. I use standard measuring spoons and cups for all my recipes. For this recipe use 1/2 liter of milk.
DeleteI use low fat milk, Can my in laws around 60's have it twice a week? Is it fatty food
ReplyDeleteI have never added warm milk to make custard paste..always cold milk.please clearify abt the milk. Also the quantity of the milk to make paste seems very less..is it just 3tbsp??
ReplyDeleteIt is done to prevent lumps. We are mixing the custard powder with 3 tbsp milk to prevent lumps, then we are adding it to the rest of the milk. The recipe is very clear, kindly read it fully.
DeleteI jus made the custard... Followed all the instructions.. But as soon as I added my paste, the milk turned thick. Now it's not like how it is shown in picture.. resembles more like an halwa. Where hav I gone wrong? Please clarify.
ReplyDeleteWhen adding the custard mixed milk (custard paste), you have to keep the heat low. You must stir continuously while adding. When it starts to thicken, you must switch off the heat because it will thicken further in the heat itself. As it cools it will become more thick.
DeleteCould you tell me where to find vanilla custard powder? I have searched a few Indian grocery stores with no luck. Is there a good source to purchase the vanilla custard powder in store or online (I'm in the US)? Is there a substitute for the vanilla custard powder?
ReplyDeleteYou can use any flavored custard powder.
DeleteHi, the fruit custard looks yummy but there is a saying that v shouldn't have fruits and milk together. For instance, orange is a citrus fruit and is it ok to have it mixed with milk??
ReplyDeleteI love fruit custard
