Stuffed Mushrooms-Easy Stuffed Mushroom Recipe-Indian Style

Stuffed Mushrooms are easy to make and they also make great starters. It can be had as a side dish for fried Rice, schezwan fried rice and even as tea time snacks. I have adopted the Indian style to made these stuffed mushroom. I make these quiet often and we all love it very much. Today we will learn how to make stuffed mushrooms with cheese following this easy recipe with step wise pictures.

Stuffed Mushrooms-Indian Style

   Ingredients needed

   Button Mushroom – 200 grams
   Garlic cloves – 2 tbsp minced
   Onions – 1/3 cup finely chopped or 1 medium size
   Capsicum – 2 tbsp finely chopped
   Grated Mozzarella Cheese as needed
   Butter – 2 tsp
   Olive Oil as needed
   Salt to taste
   Coriander leaves – 1/2 tbsp finely chopped (optional)

   Spice Powder

   Turmeric powder – a pinch
   Coriander powder – 1 tsp
   Chilli powder – 1 tsp

Preparation


Clean mushrooms and carefully twist the stem and remove it. Chop the mushroom stems finely. (Check out how to clean mushrooms?)

Method


Melt butter in a pan, add finely chopped garlic, onions and saute until onions turn transparent.


Add capsicum and cook for a few minutes. Then add the chopped mushroom stem, salt needed, coriander leaves and all the spice powder. Cook until all the moisture evaporates. Leave it to cool.


Brush the mushroom caps with olive oil. Using a small spoon, fill each mushroom cap with the stuffing, pressing slightly to fill the caps well.


Preheat the oven at 180 degree C for 10 minutes. Arrange the stuffed mushrooms on a greased baking tray and grill for 5 minutes.

Remove from oven, sprinkle a little grated cheese on top of the mushrooms and grill for another 2 minutes. Serve hot.

Stuffed Mushrooms without oven

Stove top method – Grease a non stick pan, place the stuffed mushrooms and cook covered for 5-6 minutes, turning once or twice in between.

    I tried out the baking method, they tasted superb but the mushrooms​oozed out water .what can be done not to give out water

    • Mushrooms ooze out water. You can ignore that or bake for a few more minutes. Wipe it with a towel after washing it.
