Vaya Tiffin Boxes-The Vaya Tyffyn-Premium Lunch Box-A Review

When I received the Vaya Tyffyn box, I was super excited. I have never seen such a beautiful, elegant, extremely sophisticated tiffin/lunch box. I remember taking steel lunch box/dabbas to school and college. By lunch time, the food will become cold and of course the problem of leakage was always there.

The Vaya Tyffyn has changed all that. It has come up with an innovative solution by introducing an elegant vacuum insulated lunchbox for carrying warm and fresh home-cooked meals.

It comes in three beautiful variants – Graphite, Maple and Wool and in two sizes (1000 ml and 600ml). I choose the Wool variant as it looked very colorful.

Key Features of Vaya Tyffyn

Vaya Tyffyn is the most advanced thermally insulated lunchbox. It is designed using state of the art technology to make sure your food stays the way you like it, whether hot or cold.

It comes with 3 high quality copper finished stainless steel containers and a Bag Mat/carry bag which doubles up as a table mat.

All three variants of Tyffyn is made of the highest food grade stainless steel approved by FDA (Federal Department of Agriculture, USA). The inner containers are also food quality stainless steel material coated on the outside with an elegant copper finish.

The lids are made of shatter-proof durable FDA approved BPA free plastic.

What I loved about Vaya Tiffin boxes

It looks stylish with amazing graphic designs. I loved the wool variant very much.

I personally avoid using plastics as much as possible and particularly for packing lunch.  I loved Vaya tyffyn stainless steel containers with copper finish. It keeps food fresh and free from artificial odor. We can avoid taking lunch in plastic containers. I would say it is an environment friendly lunch box.

Keeps food warm for 5-6 hours –  As the vaya tyffyn keeps the food warm for 6 hours, we do not have to re-heat food.

I loved the stylish Bag Mat – An incredibly smart shoulder bag that unzips into a table mat. You can pack and carry your vaya lunch box in it and during lunch time, unzip it into a table mat. You have a pouch for keeping cutlery and a napkin also. The Bag Mat is made of a specially coated material, which repels water and food stains. So you do not have to worry about spilling or staining, you can easily wipe it off with a damp cloth. Super easy to clean!

The stainless steel latches and the double-shot container lids prevents messy leaks. I tested it by packing rasam rice and there was totally no leakage. The finger grooves on the container lids, helps in opening the container lid smoothly without spilling.

All the three containers comes with an easy to fix partitions, so you can carry more variety. I tested it by packing gravy on one side and dry sabji on the other side. What was surprising was the gravy (keerai kootu) did not even seep to the other side (have a look at the first picture above).

Vaya Tyffyn (Premium Lunch Box) makes a great gift as it can be carried to work place, school, college, picnics or anywhere outside. It can be gifted to anybody irrespective of the gender. As lunch box  is used almost everyday, it makes a wonderful gift and  is sure to remind the recipient of the gift-giver.

  • I was hoping some1 would post review for this product...so that I could buy...I didn't expect from Padhu's though..tg4anks a lot..for the brief review.

    • Hey, did you check their FAQ section? They have a video there. Besides, I'm a consumer myself. Me & wife discover new things about this Tyffyn. For eg: When my maid made my lunchbox it was warm but when my wife made it, it was hot. Apparently figured that the maid was cooling down the food before it was put inside the box. My wife used to put food directly from the stove. Other thing noticed was that, food remain hot if filled to the brim. These are my finding. I always carry the Tyffyn in a bagmat. Apparently its convenient that way. They say it helps. I don't follow their rule about don't keep the Tyffyn where there is A/c. I have an Ac cabin - I don't have a choice :-) But I didn't find it differ the temperature.

Sometimes I have had cold food only if I consumed it at 3-5 pm in the evening while it was prepared at 8 am in the morning. But that's understood. Don't expect it. Do check out the video but I do think they go a little extra in terms of taking care of your Tyffyn. Nevertheless, if my tips help you, don't forget to thank Padhu for connecting us here. I am constantly looking for new tips and experiences from different people. It's quite exciting to read new stories. :-)

      Have a lovely day.

  • WOW ! Love it ! Will definitely think about getting one of these ,if they are on at a sensible price . Thanks for reviewing it here :)

  • Hi Padhu. I always follow your recipes and healthcare tips. From last few days I'm trying to view your haircare tips in healthbeauty.net.The page is not getting loaded. Please help.

    • There is no problem with the beauty site. I just now checked it. May be some problem with your net connections. Check with your service provider.

  • Hi Padhu, thanks for the review... Going by your review , I am planning to gift this to my hubby.. to take, rice , sambar and a sabji, would u suggest 2 boxes set or 3 boxes?

Is the 3 boxes set, too big to carry to office ?

Is the bowl space enough to carry rice for 1 person?

  • I'm concerned that the lid is till made of plastic.. and if we put hot food and close with plastic lid, I'm not sure if it helps with the purpose of avoiding plastic containers.

  • I read in the manual that we have to fill it with hot water before putting food so that It remains hot.
Which is not possible everyday as I don't have much time ( my morning time is super busy ).. And if not doing that will my food remain hot for 4 hours?
