Watermelon Juice

April 19, 2010 by PadhuSankar 55 Comments

Just now came back from my mom’s house after a week. Spent my time reading, eating, sleeping, shopping and watching movies. Enjoyed the pampering by my mother so much. I feel refreshed and I am back to routine now. I must tell you that I really missed you all very much.
Today’s recipe is a simple watermelon juice. Watermelon is available in plenty in the markets now. It is packed with vitamins and antioxidants and is also a rich source of fiber. It is also cholesterol free.
Today we will learn how to make tasty watermelon juice at home.It is very simple to make this refreshing and healthy drink at home. What could be a better way to beat the summer heat!!

Watermelon Juice

Watermelon Juice

 Prep Time : 10 mins

 Serves: 1
 Recipe Category: Beverages-Fresh Fruit Juice
 Author:Padhu Sankar

   Ingredients needed

   Watermelon pieces – 2 cups
   Ginger – 1/2 inch piece
   Fresh Lemon juice -1 tsp
   Salt – a pinch

Preparations

Peel the watermelon, remove the seeds of watermelon and cut it into small pieces.

Method

Put everything in a blender and blend it until smooth. (You need not add water as the water content in watermelon is high and that is enough)

Serve chilled. Add ice cubes if preferred.

I did not add sugar as the watermelon itself was very sweet but those who want can add sugar or a tsp of honey if needed.

Have a glass of watermelon juice and enjoy the health benefits it offers.
