Navratri Recipes-Navratri Sundal Recipes

Navratri /Navaratri or Navarathri literally means nine nights in Sanskrit, nava meaning nine and ratri meaning night. During these nine nights and ten days, nine forms of Sakti are worshiped.(source-wiki).During Navratri, Golu is an integral part of the festival .Wooden planks are set up and dolls mostly depicting gods and goddesses (see pic) are displayed.

    Rice nivedhyams : lemon rice,cocunut rice,ulundh rice,kollu rice(horse gram),ellu rice(seasame),tamarind rice,arisi paruppu rice,mango rice,curd rice,sweet pongal.
