How to make Sweet corn rice
Basmati rice - 1 cup
Sweet corn - 1 cup (I used frozen American Sweet Corn)
Onion - 2 medium size
Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - a pinch
Salt to taste
Coriander powder -2 tsp
Chilli Powder -3/4
Garam masala -1 tsp
For the seasoning
Oil -1 tbsp
Cloves - 2
Cinnamon - 1 inch piece
Soak basmati rice for 20 minutes. Then cook with 2 cups of water. Spread it on a plate to cool.
Heat oil, add cinnamon and cloves.Then add thinly sliced onions and fry till golden brown.
Then add ginger- garlic paste , turmeric powder and saute for a few more minutes.
Add sweet corn and all the spice powder. Cook for a few minutes.
Then add rice, needed salt and mix it well.
Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with any raita of your choice or chips.
Note -You can prepare this rice with ordinary corn also but boil corn before adding it to the rice.
