I have used thin variety. You can use any variety aval. Thick aval needs more standing time. Whatever poha you use, make sure it is soft before adding. Taste it and see.

Wonderful and simple recipe. I tried it today and came really well. One addition to this is MTR pulav mix to get the pulav texture and bit of flavour. Thank u padhus.

    Cheers,

This is an awesome idea. I love experimenting with substitutes to rice during dinner time. Making chapathis or phulkas is so very time consuming. This indeed turned out to be a quick fix delicious veg fried avalakki. I added dark soya sauce and cumin powder to give that additional touch.

Thanks for sharing a simple yet great idea πŸ™‚

    Neha

Hi, if I use white aval, it becomes like a flour after washing.

You are washing it too much. Just rinse it and drain it in a colander. By the time you prepare the other thing, the poha will become soft.
