Bitter Gourd Chips-Karela Chips-Bitter Gourd Recipes

Are you the one who does not like bitter gourd? Then try this bitter gourd chips and I am sure, you will love it very much. My kids who are not very fond of bitter gourd, love this chips very much. Today let us learn how to prepare bitter gourd chips following our easy bitter gourd chips recipe-

bitter gourd chips-pavakkai chips-karela chipsHow to make Bitter gourd chips (Pavakkai Chips)

Ingredients needed

Bitter gourd – 2 (medium size)
Besan /bengal gram flour -1/4 cup
Rice flour -2 tsp
Turmeric powder – a pinch
Asafoetida/hing -a pinch
Salt and chilli powder to taste
Oil for deep frying

Preparation

Scrap off the skin of bitter gourd slightly and put them in salted water for 15 minutes.

Drain the water and wipe the bitter gourd with a kitchen towel.

Cut it into thin round pieces. ( important step)

Method

Mix besan, rice flour, turmeric powder, chilli powder, hing and needed salt without adding water.

The add the bitter gourd pieces, sprinkle water and mix well.(Do not add too much water-just sprinkle)

Heat oil and fry the bitter gourd pieces in batches till crisp.

Enjoy with sambar sadam or rasam rice or as such.

    I must say after my several attempt this was the best output. Bitter Gourd Chips was amazingly crisp,tasty and appetizing,my family, mainly kids enjoyed it. Thank you, maam for the efforts u hv taken for folks like us. 🙂
