 Serves:1-2
 Recipe Category: Snacks-Breakfast-Bread
 Recipe Cuisine: Indian
 Author:Padhu Sankar

   Ingredients needed

   Bread slices – 6
Mozzarella cheese – grated as needed

   For the sauce

   Olive oil – 1 tbsp
   Tomatoes – 3 big
   Garlic – 2 tbsp
   Chilli powder – 1/8 tsp
   Chilli flakes – 1/8 tsp
   Dried Basil – 1/8 tsp
   Dried Oregano – 1/8 tsp
   Salt to taste

   Pizza Toppings

   Mushroom
   Bell Pepper
   Onion
   Sweet Corn

Preparation

Preheat the oven at 180 degree C for 10 minutes.

We will prepare a quick tomato sauce for the bread pizza. You can use ready made pizza sauce or tomato ketchup instead of this sauce for this bread pizza. But I love to make this quick sauce.

Blanch tomatoes ,peel the skin and grind it to a puree. Keep all the ingredients ready.

Heat olive oil in a pan.

sauce preparation

Add finely chopped garlic and saute for a few minutes. Then add tomato puree.

quick sauce for bread pizza

Add chilli powder, chilli flakes, basil, oregano and salt needed. Cook until the raw flavor of the tomato goes and the sauce thickens.

This is the sauce we are going to use for this bread pizza.

Method

Keep all the pizza toppings ready. I have used thinly sliced onions, thinly sliced bell peppers (red and yellow), sliced mushrooms and sweet corn. You can also use paneer, olives, tomatoes (seeds removed) etc.

Apply a little olive oil and toast the bread slices slightly.

pizza toppings

Spread 1-2 tsp of the prepared sauce or tomato ketchup evenly on the bread slices. For one bread slice alone, I have used tomato ketchup as you can see in the picture below.

Arrange the toppings and sprinkle grated mozzarella cheese all over the toppings.

Grill in a preheated oven at 180 degree C until the cheese starts to melt. Serve immediately. Repeat the same procedure for the rest of the bread slices.

Bread Pizza on Tawa

If you do not have an oven, you can make these bread pizza on tawa also. Heat a tawa, reduce the heat to low and  place the prepared bread slice with the toppings on the tawa. Close it with a lid and simmer until the cheese melts. Enjoy it hot!!

You must keep the heat low. Then you have to bring the cheese to room temperature.
