    Hi Padhu,

I had a query regarding the recipe. You say in your recipe to add red chillies, do you mean we ned to have dried red chillies ? Suppose I don't have red chillies Can I add red chilli powder instead? Kindly let me know

I forgot to add one more thing. What if I wanted to make the chutney a bit spicy. Do I need to add anything?

Red chilli means dried red chilies. If you don't have red chilies, you can add red chilli powder. If you want to make it hot and spicy, add one more chilli and garlic.Do not add anything else. It is the simplicity of the chutney which gives it a nice taste.

I am a beginner.I get confused with cup measurements. What does 1 cup mean? I have cups in my home which can measure volume. But how much do I take for 1 cup of chopped tomatoes? Will it be the same for 1 cup toor dal too?

How many curry leaves should be added for grinding? Its written few and I'm worried if I add more it will turn bitter. So can you please give the number of curry leaves to be added?
