We all know that green tea has numerous health benefits. It is rich in antioxidant which helps to reduce the risk of cancer. The antioxidant present in green tea protect cells from damage, reduce the risk of heart attacks, help lower cholesterol level and boost immune system. It can aid in weight loss by improving your metabolism, which in turn allows your body to burn fat faster. The vitamin C in green tea helps to treat the common cold. Today let us learn how to make green tea following this simple recipe.

How to make green tea

How to make green tea

Cook time – under 5 mins
Serves – 1

Ingredients needed

Green tea leaves- 1 tsp (available ready made)
Water – 1 cup
Honey to taste
Fresh lemon juice to taste

Method

Heat 1 cup of water. Do not bring it to boiling point. Switch off before that stage.

Add 1 tsp green tea and brew it for about 2-3 minutes. If you brew it longer, the the tea will taste bitter, so just 2-3 minutes is sufficient.

Strain the tea into a cup.

Add honey and a few drops of lemon juice to taste. Enjoy it piping hot!!

Note – Do not add milk for this tea. Also avoid adding sugar as it is not good for health.

Adding 2-3 fresh mint leaves gives a minty flavor to the tea.

Water temperature should be slightly below boiling point to reduce bitterness.

You can use green tea bags also.

So what are you waiting for?? Make yourself a cup of hot green tea and enjoy its numerous health benefits.

Green Tea should not be taken on empty stomach. Should always be after food with gap of 20-30 mins.
Another tip is we should not brew for more than 1.5 to 2 mins. This will add all unwanted impurities to the tea if it is more than 20 mins.

Dr. Zuo Feng Zhang, a cancer epidemiology researcher recommend two to three teacups a day, which will prove beneficial to your health. There are different views about boiling the water for green tea. I suggest that you do not brew your tea for more than 4 minutes.

Yes, it is said that consuming green tea leads to weight loss. But in my opinion, just by drinking green tea, one cannot loose weight. Proper diet (no bakery products, no fried food etc), regular exercise, and good sleep all together contributes of weight loss.

You do not have to boil after adding green tea leaves as it will taste bitter. Just brewing for few minutes is enough.
