Easy Egg Omelette Recipe-Basic South Indian Omelet

Omelettes can make a light meal any time of the day. It is easy to prepare, delicious and also healthy. It can be had for breakfast or for lunch or even as a snack. This simple omelet goes well even as a side dish for rice. Today we will learn how to make a basic South Indian omelette following this easy recipe with step wise pictures.

 Cook Time : 5 mins 
 Yields: 1 omelet

   Ingredients needed

   Egg – 1
   Onion – 2-3 tbsp finely chopped
   Green chilli – 1 finely chopped
   Salt to taste
   Pepper powder to taste
   Oil for greasing the tawa

Method


Crack an egg into a mixing bowl. Add finely chopped onion, green chilli and salt needed.

Add a tsp of water and beat well with a fork until foamy. Grease a tawa with oil and heat it.

Once the tawa is hot, pour the egg mixture on the tawa and cook on medium heat.

Once slightly cooked, flip it over to the other side and cook for just 4-5 seconds.

Easy Egg Omelette Recipe

Remove the omelette onto a plate and sprinkle pepper powder if needed. Serve hot from the tawa with rice or with bread or as such.
