December 11, 2015 by PadhuSankar 2 Comments

Egg dosa is easy to make, rich in protein and makes a filling and delicious breakfast. There are many versions of mutta dosa but this is one of the most simplest muttai dosa recipe. My children love this a lot and I make it often at home when they were young. Today we will learn how to make healthy and quick egg dosa following this easy recipe.

   Ingredients needed

   Dosa Batter as needed
   Egg – 1 per dosa
   Salt needed
   Pepper powder needed
   Turmeric – a pinch
   Oil for making dosas

   Dosa tawa

Preparation

If you have dosa or idli batter ready, this egg dosa can be made in a jiffy. Check out how to make dosa batter at home. Now a days, you get ready made idli dosa batter. You can use that also.

In a bowl, break an egg, add salt, pepper powder and turmeric powder (I add turmeric powder for everything, but it is optional). Beat it well with a spoon or fork.

Method

Grease a tawa with oil and heat it. Pour a ladle of dosa batter on the tawa and spread it in a circular motion (neither thin nor thick).

how to make egg dosa

After a few seconds, pour the egg mixture on the dosa and spread it all over the dosa with a spoon. Drizzle a tsp of oil around the dosa.

When the corners start lifting up, flip it over to the other side and cook for a few seconds.

Once the egg is cooked, remove the dosa from the tawa and sprinkle pepper powder generously. Enjoy piping hot egg dosa with tomato chutney.

Note – This dosa should be eaten hot.
